This course may be taken as part of a four-year lay reader's program, which includes Old Testament, New Testament, theology, and liturgy, or as a one-time course for general interest. Our lay readers are lay leaders trained to lead worship, preach, or lead other ministries in our church.
We hold occasional Bible Studies as scheduled throughout the year. The format is a short Wednesday night prayer service followed by a discussion of the lectionary readings for the following Sunday. Sessions are 6 weeks in length and occur in the fall and again during Lent. (Spring)
St. Michael's hosts monthly events featuring presentations on Spirituality. These occur on a Saturday morning 9 AM-12 noon, October to May, and feature guest speakers. June through September we feature day-long meditative hikes led by Betty our priest. See Coming events for details for both programs
All ladies are invited to join together for caring fellowship, fundraising and activities. Our major events are the Mother's Day and Christmas Luncheons and Bazaars. Meetings are the last Monday of the month at 2 o'clock.
Meets in the church each Thursday at 7:00 PM. Beginning with prayer, a taped lesson from a noted speaker or mediator and followed with 25 minutes of silent meditation. Everyone is welcome to this oasis of silence and peace.
Meets in the Library each Tuesday at 11:00 to pray for our parish and for the sick and those in need.
A children's program is available for children over 3 years of age at the 10:30 service. Each Sunday there is a children's talk during the service followed by an activity time upstairs.
A noon hour program open to middle school grades 5 & 6 students. Food, Fun and Activities give kids a change from regular school recess and the opportunity to interact in a church setting with talented youth facilitators.
